Started on my dash today. I had removed all of the unnecessary stuff which left large gapping holes in it exposing the harness & firewall. Decided to install a sheet metal type. Would like to see how you did the toggles & gauges.

It's an old pic! Looks better with the rest of the interior installed.

Put an aluminum dash in my Cuda 10 years ago. The sun reflecting off it was blinding. Ended up placing a section of black carpet on the top to eliminate glare. A flat-black paint or decal could be used to do the same thing.

Did you sheet metal over the existing dash or section out the lower section?

I cut this one and moved it rearward. It now has a removable gauge panel, to make access to wiring and the rear of the gauges easier. The switches are mounted to the overhead cage bar.

Mines the JEGS aluminum dash.

I do get some glare off the top if I'm driving into the sun but I've taken to tossing my gloves up in between the tach and shift light and that takes care of it.

Yes, that is a blue shift light

The main guages are all installed twisted so that when all is GOOD all the needles are flat across. (or close to it). That way I can tell at a glance that all is good or there is a problem and need to take action.

You go Bill! Funny thing is my car has a similar color interior. I get teased some. Its a Chrysler color called French racing blue. Some folks call it smurf blue Others say it Tarheel blue due to the colledge sports rivalry here between NC State (red) N. Carolina (lt blue) & Duke (Dk. blue) I have to quickly tell them I'm a Wolfpack man. Who just happens to like lt blue.

Have installed an alloy L from the window to the front bar of the cage which holds all electronics / fuses / msd etc. Then a kind of stock formed alloy dash hings on 4 studs. In the end I installed a thin dash cover over all of it which can be removed by 4 dzush fasteners.

Complete package still weighs as less as possible while retaining some sort of stock appearence.

Nice work fellas I defenately have some ideas to ponder on. I think I am going to leave my upper dash cap & install an insert. Kinda will resemble a stock dash on steriods
