paulyvault OP member P Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 86 ca, slo.	so i am running a 383 30 over with nothing special pretty stock. i have been looking at carbs and was thinking about a 650, the car is just a fun goood driver. anyone have any ideas ? thanks

Both come in dual feel inlets, so I was just curious. Can you give us the part number? As Daytona sugguested fine tune it to how YOUR DRIVING HABITS are. You never indicated any mods to the engine, so leave well enough alone with the stock setup! With some carb/ignition tuning, you will be on your way!! Nothing is going to work perfect out of the box. You need the right spring, power valve, jets and squirters and the Holley should work great. GOOD choice, just make sure the jetting is correct for the 383 (MOPAR!) and the choke/accelerator linkages and float/idle settings are all to spec. I pulled a Carter Comp Plus AFB 625cfm off and popped the 770 on and the motor ran smoother, the carb adjusted very well, and the motor loves it. I was concerned the 770cfm would be too much for my 383, but was pleasantly surprised.

A EDDY 650? AFB for STREET performance would have worked well too!! If you have a good flowing exhaust setup and a decent intake, the bigger carbs will work, but there is a mileage penalty. You are getting away from the cruiser mode.
