+1 here, not hard on the Mopars to cut off the mentioned pieces, fill, sand and repaint it to make it look like a floor shift column. A little time consuming, but quicker than looking for and changing out everything to a 4-speed column, and you can't tell the difference when it's done..

I've been wanting to do something like this also. I've heard it is easy to switch the tops sections. But have never seen any details on doing it.I've been a little leary of tearing mine up and running into a problem. Same with cutting the column shift piece off. Can someone post some instructions and pics etc here to help some of us out? thanks,

Don't be intimidated. go for it. The part you are modifying is very cheap and easy to find.
