That's an understatement. And it seems to be the flanges. I can avoid it, especially with the taller tires, just have to be careful.
Now I need to pin those needles, got to feel that heat Hear my motor screamin while I'm tearin up the street

We used to call those Milodon pans the Temple of Doom pans because of their shape and because you were doomed. Oil filled skidplate sums it up best, all right.
If you have a ToD pan and you are not kitting it on anything, it only means you are one of those guys who is driving around with 1972 era ride heights. And perhaps a straight axle, too.
Few cars really need a 7Qt pan anyway.
I would call this 72 "ride height"

Has anyone thought about making an extended Skid plate to protect these oil pans? I have one on my 68 Charger and it seems a skid plate that sticks down more than the stock one would work. Has anyone tried this?
