I bet if you look at a breakdown of all the parts used, there is a reason A&A is $300 more. I wouldn't buy 727 parts from anyone other than Rick.

I can only give an opinion on CRT since he has been my sole source of transmissions to date (2). And the ONLY reason he had to build two is because I wanted a backup, just in case something happened; as California is too far for a "quick" repair or replacement.

So far the backup has been a waste of money as my original trans that John built 5 years ago for my 493, 625HP Wedge is still performing flawlessly. And I still use the push-buttons.

So based on his great service, and product I would highly recommend CRT. But here again I haven't used A&A.

Just curious ...what is the "grocery list" of HP or aftermarket parts in these type transmissions .. other than regular OEM-type stuff ?

Never used A&A so I can't compare, but John at CRT has been great to deal with.

p.s. John, I still owe you a valve body core

i have a lot of A&A parts in my trans, they're top quality looking parts when compared to the stock stuff we took out. their Ultimate brake with the safe neutral is a wicked piece, leaves almost all my competition for dead, the others red light against me.

this isnt going to be a racing transmission, just a street performance.with shift kit.ive got a built small block tranny with mvb and i hate driving it on the street.its great at full throttle but just putting around the clashing and banging of the gears ive had enough.time for a tranny that will still bark the tires in 2nd but still shift smooth at light throttle.

I have used both CRT and A&A. Both supply good products. The deciding factor for me is this - 99% of the time I call CRT, John (the owner) answers the phone! He is friendly, informative and very helpful. I don't know how he is able to get work done answering the phone all day but that helpful(and time consuming) practice has won my business.

If the governor is still in the trans, why not just put in a stock valve body with a shift kit??

What I'd want to know is if the A&A trans includes parts and / or modifications that reflect that extra $300.

I have some A&A parts in my 727 and they're top quality. But I've wondered in the past whether you pay a significant premium for that A&A name vs. dealing with someone else.

MY , a tranny from CRT will be one of the best investments you'll make for your car. My 904 is 3 years old and doin' just great!

Money well spent!

theres a lot of guys that rebuild MOPAR transmissions whether its racing or for street use...John Cope (CRT), built my race trans..

he stands behind what he builds and the products he sells...A$A are suppliers or should I say manufacturers (correct me if Im wrong) and build transmissions as well...CRT uses a lot of those parts plus he has a few that are manufactured for him...

for me, as I have done business with CRT, thats whom I would go to and save yourself that $300..

tell you a little story: when I first met John, he showed me what was wrong with my 727 in about 5 minutes...he tore down my trans that quick and explained what each part does and what parts he will use to build me a better trans...

He's a good honest man and knows his transmissions...
