Both Magnum Force and PST offer 1-pc 2" drop spindles for B Bodies.

As they're priced around the same I was wondering if anyone knows whether there are any differences in the quality of the parts???

Help appreciated
Darren

They are a cast piece. Machining looks good, but some of the dimensions are off. You must shim (aftermarket) caliper brackets that mount to the outside face of the knuckle.

In addition, the tire contacts the tie rod if you run much wheel backspacing.

Are they the same dropped spindles that Fat Man sold for the FMJ bodies?

No, absolutely not.

Those are are welded up from thick flat stock with a spindle pressed and welded into the center. Some of the outside dimensions of those can be a little goofy too, but really the issue is they do not seem very stout.

I can't think of any reason anyone should be buying a Fat Man spindles for similar price with the cast iron ones out now.

No. Fatman knuckles are fabricated parts welded together.

If I'm not mistaken, the originals are forged. A cast version will have meaningfully less strength... sounds like the fabbed versions have less as well.

Yep, you get into the tie rod really quick if you try to run a wide wheel on the MF dropped knuckles.

Here's some pics of the Fatman dropped spindles.

The rubbing seen on the bottom of the Fatman spindle did not rub with the stock spindles...

I have the fatman spindles and am throwing them out.
My engineer reckons they are unsafe (multiple pieces and welded etc), hence checking for one-piece replacements.

I thought MF where forged ...? Hmmmm
