Ryan Johnson is nearing completion of my new W5 head motor. When he is done he is going to dyno and tune it for best performance. What do you guys think the HP numbers will be??? The specs so far... 48 degree R1A 340 block with bushed lifter bores and partially filled Fully ported W5 heads (flows 339 @ .700) angle milled to 16 deg 498 W7/W8 intake fully ported 950 CFM Proform carburetor K1 Technologies 4" 4340 crank with 2.10" GM journals Crower 6.125" middle weight billet I beam rods Diamond flat top pistons Custom bullet 48 degree camshaft (109 LSA, 264/268 @ .050") Crane ultra pro .903" 48 degree .210" offset solid roller lifters Custom manton pushrods T&D offset rockers 1.8/1.7 ratio (.693"/.693" lift) Comp 955-16 pacaloy roller valve springs Manley stainless race valves External oil filter and cooler 110 Sunoco race gas Estimate about 13.5 to 1 static compression ratio. And a picture of the motor at this point: So... let the guessing begin!!!

sounds extremely similar to my old w5 motor, except different intake and your cam is about 9-10 degrees smaller. dyno's are different but i would suspect somewhere in the area of 660 ish ponies.
69 Dart GTS A4 Silver All steel, flat factory hood, 3360race weight 418 BPE factory replacement headed stroker, 565 lift solid cam Best so far, 10.40 @127 1/4 1.41 best 60 foot 6.60 at 103.90 1/8

Am I allowed to guess? 675-680 HP 590-595 TQ Cam has very slow ramps due to excessively high rocker ratio (for bracket motor) Ended up getting a deal on these rockers from a customer who wanted to use them on a high milage street W2 motor for a good price.... Off shelf pistons, 1/16" 3/16" rings..... It's nothing really special, just has good set of heads on it. Actual Compression is 13.1:1 BTW.

hey.... whats up with just the hp & TQ with no rpm, you guys need to up the stakes here
You're in ballpark.... if anything peak TQ might be @ hair higher RPM, but with only 264 @ .050 probably pretty close there in the 5200-5300 range, will be very flat there in that area, so don't think it really matters. If converter is anywhere in 4800-5500 range will run about same down the track, this is'nt a class eliminator car.

I bet it makes way more power than what it'll take to run your mid to high 10 second goal.......
That is fer sure!
I have a feeling a lot of jaws will drop when I bring the Duster back to my home track with the new motor in it.
I'm going to need to bring several changes of shorts...

Like I said, I'm a small-block dummy and took a (s?)w.a.g. myself. I can understand your HP estimate, but that seems like a lot of torque for only 416 cubes.
So, how soon is this going on the pump?

I made 1.43 TQ/INCH before with pump gas 11:1 440 SB with good 59* INDY head.... I think we'll be in ballpark of that with this W5 motor. May be hair high guess. 1.38-1.40/Inch may be more realistic, we'll see.
Probably Beginning of week of the 13th @ this point. I've got decent amount of fab work to finish up on this top end including making a valley tray for it (will just be mild steel sheetmetal like a Big block), weld in some AN fittings for external water lines... The shortblock is done, pushrod clearancing is done (this is 48* block) Finished machining heads for T&D rocker geometry...
