How is your timing? If you used the factory timing marks have you checked the timing marks VS the actual piston position? Sometimes the marks don't line up where the should be.

Is it missing or bogging at all?

SOMETHING IS WAY OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i used the caps to stress a point. it's not the vert or the trans.{ it should be faster than that with a stock vert and a 3.23 gear. small exhaust? cam off a tooth? no timing? too much timing?{which i doubt,it would probably be kicking back against the starter]

What's wrong with the converter ????

RT .533
60 ft 2.23
1/8 8.8 82.8 mph
1/4 13.6 99.3 mph

IT JUST SUCKS !!!!!!!!

what intake/carb?
how heavy is the car?
what do you have for exhaust?

I agree with others, your 60' sucks...cut it down to the 1.50's and you're in the mid 12's, possibly...

but your MPH isn't too high, so it almost seems like it's laying down on the big end?

If the car is hard to push in a straight line on a flat level surface look at the brakes hanging up first then make sure rear housing is NOT bent.

If you have a mechanical fuel pump with 5/16 fuel line switch to electric fuel pump and min. 3/8 line.

What type/manufacturer is your convertor? Money spent on a cheap convertor is wasted money.

Good luck.

Took the engine out to see..

Looks like one rod bearing shot and the mains
are in very bad shape.....too bad I waisted money on an engine builder for assy,.....sould have done it myself as usual.

What the...?? How old was this motor? Hopefully the "builder" will stand behind it.
