I think with enough air pressure it should work and besides what's the worst that's going to happen...get plugged. Give it a try.

Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.

I would be a little skeptical on the outcome of that on the end of a hand drill> What is the operational RPM of those flapper wheels that would cause beneficial plastic deformation of the surface of the part? IF we are throwing around buzzwords, how about laser peening?

Roto Peening is a standard repair, accomplished on high strength aircraft parts. If you looked at the second page you would have seen the strips that are use to determine proper saturation. In have done it numerious times and never had a problem.

Where'd you find the shot ??
Roto-peening ... I've got a lot of stuff I'd like to do. It goes a lot faster in the cabinet.
I'm not planning to do it to alter the strength of the metal, only for the cosmetic finish - much like they do to alternator and starter casings when they're remanufactured. Sandblasting and glass beads are great for material removal but peening gives a much nicer finish.
