Is there a trick to torqueing the lock nut to the 30ft-lbs but not moving the adjusting bolt after it's adjusted properly? would a crows foot work? What is the chrysler special tool for this?

YES Easy does it or the stud will break off--snug it good with a short wrench--never has one come loose but lots break off from Gorilla mechanics

I am trying to be precise w/ the torque wrench but as you turn the lock nut, so turns the adjusting bolt...

you have to have two hands and two wrenches in there to hold it in place while you turn the lock nut.

So you just "guess" as to the torque? it's supposed to be 30ft-lbs per the service manual, is it not that important?

Ive never torqued the lock nut either. The square sockets are avaliable from Sears, Snapon etc.I have a few in the garage as my 58 Harley also uses the square drive to adjust the rear brake shoes.Rocky
