I think there may have just been a post on here, but I can't find it. I'm putting on the kit to move the springs 3" inboard on my '72 Demon. I have the springs, and kit,is there anything else I need to purchase and install along with this kit? Any tips or advice that I need before I start to do this? Again, any help is really appreciated guys!
Thanks in advance!!
Thanks Moparts!!

To use the 3 inches you gain by moving the spring onto the frame rail, you will also need to mini-tub your inner wheel well 3 inches. That will put it flush with the frame rail.

I did my old Dart about 15 years ago, and from what I can remember, I don't think it was much, if any at all!

Unless they've changed it, the hole in the new spring perches for the leaf spring clamp bolt is too big on the Mopar Performance kit. You may have to fab a bushing if you use the MP kit.

Shoot - I didnt really want to cut up my wheel wells and mini tub it,I thought this gained 2 or 3 inches by moving the springs only. There is a b-body rear end in the car right now,so I'm puttin an A-body rear end back in,so that should gain me some, plus movin the springs.

Only advice I would give you is to drill 2 or 3 holes in the boxes before you weld them in. That way you have the option to lower/raise the height of the car, or even move the rear back a little if you'd like to run a taller tire.

I just ended up drilling a new set of holes in the boxes a couple of days ago to move my rear back an inch for taller meats. Would have been SO MUCH easier to do it before I had the boxes welded in. Live and learn.

And minitubbing isn't that hard to do. And can be made to look factory if you take your time with it.

You gain about 3/4-1" moving the springs in.

Take a look under the car. The wheelhouse is stepped off the frame about 2-2.5". That's why doing the mini tub is so important when moving the springs in. Without the mini-tub, the wheelhouse is in the way and you don't get max advantage from the spring relocation.

If you aren't mini tubbing, get the 3/4" offset hanger relocation kit.

The MP kit spring perches have a large locating hole for the leaf spring. Morroso makes ones with a better locator hole. I got mine from Summit.

If you're doing a relocation kit, you have to have a welder. No?

Get a piece of pipe that is 3/4" od and 1/2" id and weld it in the too big hole like a sleeve. No biggie, done two sets like that in the last 2 months. 20 minutes tops.

Check with Dr. Diff on this site as well. Cass is a good guy and has a nice offset front hanger.
