I'm installing a full TTi exhaust system. 1 7/8" headers on a 440 with the Mopar 383/440 aluminum cylinder head (also known as Street Stage VI)- these have stock port locations. The driver's side clears the torsion bar fine, the passenger side rubs up against the torsion bar. Anyone had this issue? The TTi system is a quality piece (I'm not knocking them because there's always the possibility I did something wrong) but I guess I expected it to fit perfectly.

Thanks. The motor mounts are brand new (I'm doing an engine swap and switched to headers at the same time).

Yes, the regular Stage VI heads do have raised ports. These are a variation called street stage VI or 383/440 aluminum cylinder head, part number P4876311 (discontinued). They have stock port locations.

i think the '311 head has the intake ports in the stock location but not the exhaust. find an iron head and do some measuring.

Schumacher makes a shim kit, EZ to install if you need a slight height adjustment for header clearance.. No need to start bending in the tubes.. Just my $0.01...

No, they don't. The 4876311's exhaust port location is identical to a standard Stage VI, which means it's about .4" wider and .4" higher than an OEM head's exhaust port. That's why you have clearance issues w/ the torsion bar.

Measure your crankshaft centerline in relation to the K-frame etc just like they tell you in the directions. I have the locking Mighty mounts and they raise the engine slightly. My passenger side 2" TTi is close, so I wrapped the torsion bar with heat insulation.
1970 Plymouth 'Cuda #'s 440-6(block in storage)currently 493" 6 pack, Shaker, 5 speed Passon, 4.10's 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible 408 Magnum EFI with 4 speed automatic overdrive, 3800 stall lock-up converter and 4.30's (closest thing to an automatic 5 speed going)

Yeah I would make sure the engine is sitting in there according to TTI specs. Chrysler was real sloppy on the k-frames back in the day so you don't know where that engine is until you measure.
