Right now I have 2.94s in my Satellite. Its a stock 350 horse 440, runs good, headers and a Holley 770 carb. I'm going to change the cam to something mild, probably the bigger Summit cam, in a few weeks and put an Eddy RPM on it. Right now the car has 2.94 gears and well, it feels like it has 2.94 gears in it.
I have a 2.94 sure grip, 741 case and a buddy has a 3.55 open 741 case. I can buy the 3.55 open from him and swap my sure grip to the 3.55 and have 3.55 gears but I'm debating weather or not to just put 4.10s in it. The tires will be 28 inches tall. Im a strong believer in what the factory engineers do and the quickest street car Mopar ever put together is an A12 car and they ALL came with 4.10s. I dont go faster than 60 on the highway anyway and usually like to take the Satellite the long way everyplace.
How do you guys feel about 3.55s vs 4.10s? Does it pull much harder?
Now I need to pin those needles, got to feel that heat Hear my motor screamin while I'm tearin up the street

3.55's, stick or auto, works well. If you want to be ultra conservative, 3.23's aren't too bad. It is all about where and how you drive!!

If I made a small step change from 3.23 to 3.55 and GOT PLENTY HAPPY I can guess a bigger change up to 3.55 will get more happiness. I could get 100-110 miles on little bit less than 4K RPMs ( in D ). 27" tires. but for all around use I woulnd't go higher than 3.55
