Jimmy(bad1970dust) gutted my 446" this afternoon...Here is what he found...Cam was junk, had a wiped lobe. Two cylinders were scared..Should clean up at .055 over. Rod bearings were shot. 1 main bearing showed some scars. 1 piston was chewed up on the bottom and probably some other things I forgot!! Looks like back to the drawing board!!

Sounds like it needs everything Ted... gotta sit down
and give it some thought... might be time for a stroker
but can your heads support a stroker... that would
be the main thing now

Join the club Ted, a $25 rocker gets chewed up and $1200 later the paint job is in serious jeopardy.

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

Paint is over-rated IMO...lol Ted, best-o-luck on the new bullet, a stroker would be the way to go even if your heads end up being marginal...you can always upgrade as affordable, but at least the short block would be there

well it's either sit on the porch and look at a shiny but immobile car sitting on the trailer,, or go racin'........what's it going to be.

Dang Ted, hate to hear of your woes.
Got to agree with the others, paint can wait.
They say the aged patina look is popular,
that's what I keep telling myself.

Well, who's car will be in the burnout box first? A B body, or an A body? Hope to see you this year, Ted. Good luck with the ordeal. Hope it fits the wallet thickness.

Sorry to hear the bad news..
But you may want to rethink the 383 deal, built properly you will wonder why you ran RB stuff in the first place...

ted if vernmotor does not want to use my 440 you are more than welcome to use it. all you need is some push rods, rockers and a intake.let me know if yuo are interested in it. it still has 80 pounds of oil pressure and checked at 165 pis crancking compression.this engine got my old 3600 pound 65 plymouth down into the 11.70 range. best of luck bobby

Yes, Vern found a rusty spark pulg in a Cyl that he had replaced a cracked sleeve in.

Well I look at it some more tonight,,No water/anitfreeze in the oil.. I going to put the trans in so I can crank it over with the starter and see what come out of this spark plug hole. do a leak down . blow some air in that hole and see just how bad it is. I might give the block seal a try..or take the head off and look in there..Ted If you need anything let Me know I got lots of blocks..I got almost a spare motor here. would have to buy some parts..
