Hi Guys, I'm converting my 68 Coronet to discs using the later model (73 charger) single pot calipers. My question is.. Where does the wire spring clip fit? Cheers Simon

are you using the pin type or slider calipers? On the pin type the wire clip is used to fasten the outboard pad to the caliper for installation, and the pins go through the little indents keeping it there for road use.

Hi Robert, Yes you are right it has been a while, due to the economic climate in the uk at the moment i've not been able to do much with my car this year. I got the disc conversion second hand from a guy in belgium and apart from that i've got a new engine bay wiring loom to fit and i also got some of the new colored seat belts from bea body parts. How have you been getting on? Cheers Simon

A trans and engine repair shop sounds great, just your kind of thing i would guess. i've heard the rumours about the 'right hand drive' conversions, they all sound pretty awful, with lots of linkages involved,i remember somebody once told me about a conversion that involved two sprockets and a chain drive for the steering!

Hi JD. I did wonder about that. i've swapped the calipers side to side and the banjo bolt on the hose fouls on the shocker on full lock. If i mount 'em the other way ie calipers towards the front of the shock as opposed to the rear i have no steering due the caliper fouling on the anti roll (sway)bar

Andy, I think you are probably saying what i'm thinking. I bought these fro a guy who said they were 68 Coronet when what he actually meant was that they had been fitted to a 68 coronet by somebody else. i think i might just put my drums back on a give them a good seeing to

I see the delimna your in now. Don't give up on the disc brakes though. They are much safer, and worth the trouble. If you end up switching to slider type calipers, and can't find any on your side of the pond....send me a PM. I've got a set of caliper adapters you can have for free. Not sure if shipping would be out the wazoo,as I've never shipped anything to the UK. Good luck.
