I have used both the RC12YC and RC9YC on my edddy RPM aluminum headed 518 wedge with 10.29 to 1 comp and my 464 Eddy headed 10.46 to 1 comp. ratio little motor Both work well on the street and at the track with those plugs, BTW I am at 3000 FT above sea level also

The AR52 are pretty cold for a street car on pump gas If I was going to use the 13/16 size spark plug bodys I would probally use the Autolite 53 or 54, or the resistor plugs in the same heat range( I can't remember those numbers right now )

I just cross referenced the accells that barton had put in it and that was the autolite number. I run c12 at all times so not really sure

The RC9YC plug should work fine for your application.

Definetly NOT There way to cold for a low compression pump gas motor unless you run it really lean at idle and part throttle, I wouldn't. Champion uses a numbering system that the smaller the numbers the colder the plug is The C63YC is a 5/8 body plug with a protruded gap and a copper center electrode that is a little hotter than a RN6YC or N6YC would be

These are the plugs I have:

champion RC9YC: I think heat range is 5??? for 10,5:1 with alum heads
Champion RN12YC: Heat range 4??? for under 9:1 with alum heads???
Champion C61YC: heat Range 9??? for 12:1 with alum heads
NGK 7173: heat range 8??? for 11:1 with alum heads???

Are my above statemets true?

Should I try the RC9YC first and go from there?

I would try the RC9YC first and then the RN12YC after getting the tune up the way you want it and determine which plugs you like the best
