How do you convert a mopar with a 1969-down engine wiring harness to a 1970+ electronic voltage regulator (i.e. this one: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DCC-4529794/)What is the field and ground wire connection on this regulator? Also, I am having issues with proper voltage regulation, even with a brand new regulator installed. The alternator is constantly putting out around 14+ volts. What should I troubleshoot to fix this? Thanks for the help!

There is another alternative..Thanks to E-Booger. Go to Autozone, get a 25.00 VR704 electronic voltage regulator... Pop off both the new and old covers from the regulators.... Install the oldd cover over the new regulator and with no wire cutting-no alternator swapping, just install back into its stock location and enjoy modern techno;ogy and still look factory stock..

As said 14 plus is fine. No real need to worry till you get into the 15's.
Most likely cause of an overcharge(if there was one present, which it doesn't seem there is) is a voltage drop in the wire on IGN lead to the voltage reg. I have seen this wire show only 12.5 volts when the battery was over 15. Regulator thinks there is not enough charge, so it gives the alternator more field current. More amperage is the result, so up goes the voltage.
Here's some random info on the dual field myth No need to wire in the newer style regulator

I've got something like this from FBO when converting my '67 Satellite to pointless and dual feed alternator. Does that mean I can just plug it in like stock and not have to run and splice a wire from one of the feeds on the alternator back to the voltage regulator with this kind?

you are going to have to try again. that didn't make sense. Either you have a duel field alt or you don't. The pictured vr is the single field.

then, about the electronic unit to one field wired alt... I have had some different opinions about those units, being some bad, some good.
about the dual field myth... he is right all alt have dual field since you need both fields to create magnetism inside the alt.
The diff is being when both are wired from a diff alt source or one wired and the other one directly grounded to alt. Thats maybe the reason to the single and dual field alts denomination.
