although thats a tipical Mopar simpthom by default, is increased by the bulkhead conection damages and loosen wires at ammeter, but not realy by the ammeter itself ( unless studs inside ammeter are loosen too from inside )

Do the madd bypass but at least run a heavy wire from the alt+ to the bat+ with a fuselink in it. Check and reinforce your grounds.
