My headlights in my 75 D300 flicker bright and dim and my heater does the same thing at random times. I replaced the voltage regulator and it is charging. I looked for bare wires and taped up worn ones. Could it be my ammeter?

Not unless the wires on it are loose. I would suspect the bulhead connectors.

although thats a tipical Mopar simpthom by default, is increased by the bulkhead conection damages and loosen wires at ammeter, but not realy by the ammeter itself

( unless studs inside ammeter are loosen too from inside )

and replace your damaged wires with new ones. taping over them did nothing but "hide" the problem! old wires with insulation that's cracked and fallen off will also have corroded copper under whats left of the insulation. the resistance will be higher, so you will get less voltage flowing through them, and what flow you DO get, will cause excessive heating, causing further damages, up to and including catastrophic electrical fires

Do the madd bypass but at least run a heavy wire from the alt+ to the bat+ with a fuselink in it. Check and reinforce your grounds.
