Those OEM heads are killing your power. Get some Edelbrocks.
i dont know about that. they were ported pretty well by a well known small block guy named mullen. he did some fantastic work back in the mid to late 80's when i got them.
I always wanted to try a set of eddys but I just cant seem to jump into it.
heres a few pics. the ports had some surface rust on them from sitting for a few years.

aarcuda......I edited my post. Apparently nobody saw the humor in it.
patrick..........the RPM is a pretty decent manifold and would work fine on a 416 but, a lot of guys miss the fact that a 416 requires as much air to run 6140 RPM, as a 365 requires to run 7000 RPM.
gotcha!

Ported Victor 340 and a 950HP holley Carb
the manifold at least seems to be a poor match for the rest of the combo (small solid, low compression)
I'd go eddie RPM air gap and the above carb. or maybe a thermoquad set up by demonsizzler.
I think that it would be an interesting comparo with the Airgap and the Victor. My guess is the Victor would yield slightly better ET's but the Airgap would have better street manners. I know for a fact(dynos don't lie) that my 6 pak setup on my 416 cost me 39 HP as compared to an Airgap/950 combo.

Were it me, looking at the overall combo, i would go with a 950 as others have mentioned, and put a wieand excellerator under it. that intake has real solid street manners, and makes really good power at 6500 on a 416(i used to have that intake on my old 416 and went 10.70's with it on a heavy car with eddies and a flat tappet cam. That intake, IMO, is a perfect fiT for what you are doing, and they have another positive in that they generally line up perfectly when installing them, unlike most 340 victors i have seen, that require either bolt hole elongation, milling, or both to fit.
