Hi guys,

I have a 69 road runner with a new 496 stroker setup, auto, 2800 stall converter, running 275/60/15 Drag Radials and thinking about what kinda times I can run at the track.

Not sure what gears to toss in, 3:55, 3:91, 4:10?

I'm running a cam with about 550" lift and 285 duration, eddy aluminum heads, 1 7/8" headers and an eddy 800cfm for now.

Looking to hear your similar based combos, with or without NOS, gears, specificly about and 1/4 times and mph.

Thanks for your input

So far my combo is very similar to yours but with a six pack and 3.55s I'm curious to see too.

Get a holley 850DP that eddy 800 won't be enough and you'll fade at 3/4 track, and 3.91 at least. What drag radials? if you tune is on and you run 3.91's you'll blow BFG's apart...Hoosier or ET street radials and you'll be ok.
When you get it all sorted out it should run 11.80's or so maybe better.

I just took my Coronet to the track last week with a 500 inch with Eddy heads. Using a cam with 247/255 and 549/572 lift, 1 3/4 headers, 3000 stall, and 3:55's I went 12.00@113 with regular 275/60 BFG street tires. Mind you this was the first time me or the car have ever been down the 1/4 mile. My car weighs 3975lbs. I'm sure if you use 3:55's with some drag radials you can drive easily to the track and run 11.80's at least.

275/60/15 BFG will not get it done on 69 runner with stock style suspension. if you can get 60' in the 1.70s look for 11.7-11.8 in 1/4. If you can squeeze 325/50s in, you might have a chance.

Had a 68 all steel coronet 499" w/525 comp hyd cam, stock eddy heads, 800 edelbrock, full tti system, 3.54 rear, 26" e/t streets, that would 60' 1.72, ran 12.20 @ 111, but was running out of fuel a wee bit down track. Weight approx 3900 w/driver.

you can thank that weak carb for that. Put a DP on it and you'll be into the 11's easy.

Yeah, I was also using an elec pump, pulling fuel through the 5/16 fuel line through the stock pickup screen that was most likely never seen after car was built in 68. That car's(should of kept it) gone now anyways.

5/16 line is ok. Seen cars run low 11's w/ it, now a dirty sock 'aint gonna help.

with your set-up a good pair of DOT's would get you way into the 11's. I pulled 1.68 w/ ET streets on a 12.90 car. 1.80 is good for a mid 13 second car

It's hard to judge what is a good or bad 60ft. for an E.T. I've seen shitty 60ft.'s end with fantastic E.T.'s I've also seen great 60ft.'s turn into turds at the other end. Some cars consistantly run bad 60ft's and run better than cars with good 60ft.'s. My real point is you don't always need to shove a monster tire in back to run good, even with basic combinations.

ture and since you have a 4 speed I'm not sure what you were dropping the hammer at.

For a primarily street driven car I would run the 3.55's.Any more than that will not give you much if any E.T. gain on drag radials but your driveability will suffer unless you like spinning 3000-3500 rpm at 60-70mph on the freeway.
The stroker makes so much torque you don't need to rpm it to death.Let the torque move you.
