What should the point gap be on a single point distributor on a stock internal 383 with an Edelbrock performer intake and 650 double pumper carb and headers?
What about the dwell?
2016 Ram 1500 Crew Cab: 5.7, 65RFE, 4.56 gears with locker, Hemifever tuned, AFE intake, 87mm throttle body, JBA headers, 3" Flowmaster exhaust, split to dual 2.5" exits. 13.57 best ET so far.

.016" & 30. You can lower the point gap a few thou which wii increase (lengthen)the dwell(the # of degrees(time) the points are closed which will give more coil saturation(a hotter spark) but slightly shorten the points service life.
live every 24 hour block of time like it's your last day on earth

The problem with factory aluminum Mopar single point units is that "they are so bad", even the "tighter ones" that often, you had to "fudge" the dwell/ gap to come to a "happy medium" EVERYTHING in those units changes with rpm, vacuum, etc. You can only see this clearly on a 'scope.
My recollection--and I haven't worked with any of these for years--is that they tend to go towards "open" (points gap) as rpm/ vacuum goes up
