changed 318 to a 360 in the 38 but left 318 trans in so instead of welding weights on converter my brother had a flex plate from summit i could use well put it in and starter just spins flex plate was used with a 727 my tran is a 904 the cylinder that pushes the gear in hits about 1/8 to big so is there a light weight starter that might clear or does summit sell a flex plate for a 904 or weld weights to converter??did't really want to drop tranny again Thanks

At least you try to help others with their problems. Some members here never venture to Q&A side of the board. All they want to do is talk politics, etc. Maybe they don`t know enough to help out.

You need the flex plate for the 904 transmission and external balance 360. Available at summit.

Clean it, if it's Dirty. Oil it, if it Squeaks. But: Don't fix it, if it Works!
