Looking at it more today, I centered the lobes under the lifter bores and the cam would need to move about 3/8" rearward to allow the bearing to contact the block. I'm thinking the boss maybe was cut back to accommodate this and not need a bearing. Going to make some phone calls tomorrow and find out.

so that block casting allows for a raised cam option?
Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

Anyone install a Milodon 13000 gear dive on a 60mm Cam? I'm currently attempting, and the thrust bearing supplied only contacts the block about 1/8" of an inch. Searched high and low and there doesn't seem to be wider options. So just wondering if its a concern or not.
Thanks I personally don't like the limited surface contact FWIW. You may have to source a bronze bushing, no harm. ALSO, it doesn't appear the cam is piloted now with what you have going? From what I have seen the depth of the undercut on cams bigger than OEM diameter is cut as-if you were just putting a timing chain on it. I've had to lathe a couple of 3 cams on the front undercut deeper to get the stack-up correct for my Jesel belt.

I was thinking the same on the bronze bushing if needed, those I can find w/ proper ID/OD. What do you mean by piloted? Sorry I'm used to small blocks. Thanks
