Anyone ever buy a complete system, not just headers ?

How did it fit up ?

I have an E-body with the leaf springs moved in with the offset hangers, I was looking at the 2 1/2 inch system.

I just installed their headers and a full 3" system on my 67 Belvedere and it fit so nice that I have a 2 1/2" manifolds back system on the way for my 66 Coronet.

10yrs ago I put a complete 2.5" system in my Challenger, 340, w/Dr Diff relocation kit, no issues.
Just swapped in a 5.7, bought the TTI shortie headers and head pipes, and it bolted up perfectly to the existing system.
TTI is 1 of the few vendors that you get your monies worth, quality product.

I will say, I didn't spend the $400 they wanted for tips, got some for 1/2 that.

Put a full 3" X pipe TTI on our 70 Charger, went on like a breeze.
A little maneuvering needed next to the tank, but not too bad.

Put the 2-1/2" system on my '66 Charger in 2005 or so. Went on pretty good. Some Never-Seize and a big rawhide hammer were helpful. wrench hammer

I bought and installed TTi’s 304 stainless steel complete exhaust system from manifold to tail pipes on my 69 Charger, it went on perfectly. This was 10 years ago, still looks brand new today. I’ll never have to worry about rust.

To get it in 304 stainless steel, you have to call TTi’s and order it in there slow time which is now.

I have a 3" system w/Dr Diff relocation kit, no issues but it is close on my Challenger.
Cuda's have fitment issues with offset hangers.

Total 2 1/2" TTI system including headers on my small block 73 Challenger 4 speed. Had to rework the reverse shift rod as it hit the crossover. Apparently later Challenger 4 speeds have a diiferent reverse rod than earlier models. ts been on the car since 2004. Though I've recoated the headers for cosmetic purposes, the system is in great shape. Everything else bolted up perfectly.

1 tip, make sure you read every note for the type of car, engine size, heads, transmission, X or H pipe and pipe size for the car you are putting it in...Like other have said, easy install if you get the correct system.

Would it be wise to call them and have them help you select the right system?

I put a complete system on my '65 Belvedere, headers to tips. Best fitting, easiest install I have ever done. Everything fit perfectly and just bolted up. up

I bought the 3" X pipe system for my 70 Cuda /gen 2 Hemi /auto and it went on like a breeze. I had the TTI headers on already, and I used the offset DR. Diff kit to put a B-body Dana in. Several years ago I put the same system on my 69 Satelite with a 493/auto with the same results. The only cuts we had to make was on the headpipe/collector adapter to shorten the headpipes by about 3 inches.

I've done two B-bodies, one 2-1/2" and one 3". Install was about as painless as it could be.

The 3" pipes get kinda cozy with the gas tank, but that's geometry.

My only negative experience is with A body tailpipes , they aren't bent to use the stock hanger locations.

running up my post count some more .

3" H-pipe on the '71 Charger. Only had to cut a bit off the H-pipe so the tubes are a bit closer, but this is with Hooker headers and the TTI collector adaptors.
2-1/2 X-pipe on the '69 Coronet. The X-pipe to the mufflers seemed to be too long? Maybe for those running shorter mufflers? Had to cut the ends a bit shorter.
Changing the clutch in the Coronet, getting the exhaust back off was a chore. When I put it back, I welded flanges between the mufflers and tail pipes so I can drop the entire center part of the exhaust system.
Have another 2-1/2 H-pipe system for another '69 Coronet, but it is not installed yet.

My '73 Challenger has a full tti x-system from 2" RB headers thru 3" exhaust to their stainless-steel tips. I re-installed it a couple of months ago as part of putting my car back together and it was relatively straight forward (again).

1973 Barracuda 3 in went together great everything lines up,The only thing that thew me ,there were no note , that if it was a barrracuda you needed to cut the tailpipe 2 in ,of course the system would fit the Challenger perfectly.

I highly recommend the 3.0 or maybe even a 3.5 inch devil complete system over a 2.0, 2 1/4 or 2.5 inch system twocents
Been there, done that, larger is better when it comes to exhaust system with mufflers scope up twocents

Cab - TTI doesn't offer bigger than 3.0", unfortunately

I recently emailed them to see if they had the ability to make a 3.5" system(to the muffler) and they said they couldn't frown

Be advised that a 3" system will also be LOUDER than a 2-1/2. I wasn't expecting it, but having done one of each the difference is obvious- the 2-1/2 sounds healthy, the 3" sounds like it wants to eat your children.

I put a 3" on my 71 cuda 440 with stock manifolds. It all went in fine, but had a horrible drone at 45 mph. I installed their headers, and the drone was gone. It was the easiest exhaust I have ever installed.

I had that exact same experience with my 1970 'Cuda. Manifolds with 2 1/2" pipes, terrible drone. Put TTI headers on, no drone and more power, a winning combination.

Yeah, I had replaced a tiny exhaust with the 3", but left the manifolds. It woke the car up, but after installing the headers it was a whole nother beast!

Wondering how the TTI system would fit using Doug's Headers ??

Also have the rear springs moved inboard so the pipes would have to run off to the sides of the frame rails - is there adjustment there to move them closer to the tank? (69 B-body)

I have the same question, I was going to email TTi. I found out Doug‘s headers are on sale at Summit Racing and you can use a 10% off code on top of that makes it a sweet deal. AutoZone online has a 20% off sale so it equals out to be the same price as Summit’s. They both have free shipping.

The X-pipes have slip joints to allow adjusting the side-to-side spacing to fit the header collectors, so they're not header-specific. But that's the only adjustment in the system that I can think of. I'd contact tti to verify.

I put a 68-70 2.5"tti system on my 67 coronet. I moved the leaf springs to the frame as I mini tubbed it. It fit perfectly. The catch is that I removed the gastank and spare tire floor.
I do have a 20gal fuel cell that is sunk down through the flat trunk floor that I installed. I see what I can find for a picture.

Interesting that some kind of sound wave cancellation is going on at highway cruise rpm
when individual cylinders get the added length of their runner down to the 4-into-1 merge, whether 2.5 or 3.0 collector.

https://ttiexhaust.com/Menu_Classics440_Headers.htm

https://ttiexhaust.com/Classics-Hdr/383440-134/TTI383440-134LS.jpg

TTI does not want to say the lengths of the runners so competitors can easily copy.

The runners do not look equal length.
Overall width 41 to 42 inches

Longest runner I guess-ti-mate less than 42 after subtracting collector length.

I wonder if TTI scientifically experimented with varying runner lengths to get rid of part throttle drone in the 60 to 75 mph cruise range,
or was it a “happy accident.”

Sales volume wise having a reputation for “no drone” probably is more valuable than
“more max rpm power gain” than any other header.

Doug’s header design emphasis on “true equal length” would have more chance of sound cancellation just at one relatively narrow rpm and throttle position.

I think the drone is caused by factory manifolds. I had a 68 charger with a 360 engine with stock manifolds and a summit 2.5" dual exhaust system. It had an awful drone in the 40-50mph area. Maybe a bit wider. The 2.94 gears made the drone range wider.
Ultimately what fixed the drone was installing a cheap set of Summit headers.
