Refreshing a Pro-Flite. Thought it might be interesting to see the guts. Nice parts for sure. It's a morph between 727 and 9904. Case, shafts, pump, and low roller are 727 based. Pump and case are modified to accept 904 drums, planets and bands. 6 pin planets, lots of billet aluminum goodies. Aluminum park gear. Servos are stock. I pull the VB apart to clean. Dave says he doesn't use fancy clutch frictions or Kolene steels.

It's a Powerglide splined input shaft and stator support?

Wonder how much it has changed over the last 45 years.

Those guts are in more stock eliminator cars you can shake a stick at….. and NOT just Mopars!

We cruised through this one after a driveline shock episode…. all was well.

Looks like the steel's are starting to wear on that aluminum drum pretty good. Might take a file and knock the edges off a little.

Dealt with that on glides and the reverse clutch steel's. Have to put case savers in when it gets bad enough.

Is that ‘Dave’ from State Farm? What’s his charge for a trans or parts to install?

If you gotta ask......It depends on the final intended use of the trans. Big difference between a low HP stocker and a factory shoot out application(although those are Joel's on Joy Versions). Also the term proflite gets tossed around alot but a few sources make similar transmissions Pro Trans, A1, Joels on Joy, A&A, Coan all make versions of them .

Thanks so much for taking the time to share these photos with us.

I have known of these transmissions for years but never got to see the insides of one.

Called Dave yesterday with a few questions. Nice guy and easy to get info from. Personally with Joel, smartest trans guy I've ever met in person.
