Has anyone Mini Tubbed a 64 Dodge B-body? My? is how do the supports for the torsion springs and the hinges for the trunk lid work out, will they need bracing while the tub is out before I reinstall it and reattach them to the tub? I mean while the inner tub is out will they just stay put only attached at the top?
Thanks

No bracing needed. Mt 64 is fully tubbed. Stcock hinges and toesion springs. It's been done 12 years with no ill effects.

Maybe I am not presenting the question right. The question is when you remove the tub, the inner tub, will the trunk lid springs, and hinge points stay in place with no lower support until you get the new tub installed and reattach the trunk lid springs, and hinge points back to the relocated tub?

I took the springs and deck lid off. In fact the tubs couldn't be slid into place with the hinge brackets in place. The spot welds were drilled out. Tubs installed and brackets were rewelded. When I've mini tubbed we've still removed the deck lid and springs.

Mine is an E Body, but same concept as mentioned above. My trunk hinges and bracing were welded back in place after mini- tubbed. In stock locations just had the be trimmed to follow the new tubs contour.

Yes. BUT, life is easier if you 1) remove the trunk and 2) back off the tension or even remove those torsion bars during the minitub process.

I think the OP's question is whether he needs to brace the structure while he's working ?
There's a lot of structure already, so if the back glass, surrounding structure, and quarter panels are intact, bracing isn't necessarily required.
Easy enough to verify - and correct if necessary - by taking before & during measurements.
One could place a strut under the package tray/trunk lid lip area to the trunk floor if need be.
That could even be a wood 2x4 with a tight fit.

I removed and replaced all of the rear inner tubs on my 1963 Plymouth Belvedere a long time ago, I bought and used a rea tub kit from Alston's Chassis works and made it fit up
I'm not a good fabricator or welder, I used pop rivets where needed and seal the upper tub to the 1.4 panels with seam sealer, I think it was some sort of seam sealer confused
The inner upright had a pinch seam that the upper tub fit into and pushed it together, I think it was called a "Pittsburgh" seam. work shruggy
I ended up using duct tape on the inside of the upper and outer seams to keep smoke out from the burnouts. whistling That worked upshruggy
