All,
Finally got my hood painted and on!
Looking for ideas and pics of a good way to have the hood sealed to a pan and get air directly to the carb.
It’s a Glasstek fiberglass hood, it’s completely open under the scoop.
When I had a stock hood, I cut a coffee can size hole and made a foam ring to seal to the bottom of the hood.
Going to hopefully come up with an idea to fabricate or purchase something nice.
Thanks all!

Wally.

Depending on carb height and whether you run an air cleaner...

A large square of aluminum attached to the air cleaner base, foam perimeter to seal to the hood.
Or, same deal attached to top of the carb with a U-bracket/stud/nut.
Or, bond the aluminum to the hood itself, hole of appropriate size/location to clear carb/cleaner

.030" aluminum. Bend at a 90 on the edge for stiffness. Taper the foam to fill the gap. Cheap and light.

My Dart has an AAR bolt on six pack hood, the opening is huge, so I fabricated a plate that is glued to the hood. Then I made an air pan that is attached to an air cleaner base, then added foam to seal it to the hood.
