I have a 750 Holley on a 440 that will not get fuel to the bowl. I have been chasing fuel problems on this engine for a while. The fuel went bad and gummed up the carb. It has since been rebuilt and the fuel pump has been replaced. I also checked the fuel pump rod for proper length so we are good there. I have disconnected the fuel line from the tank and stripped in a fuel line to a fresh quart of fuel. I checked the fuel pump by running clean gas through it into a quart container. It is flowing.
I just connected the fuel line from the pump to the carb and after cranking can see no fuel in the bowl. When I crack the fuel valve seat lock screw fuel is squirting out.
Any advice would be appreciated. I gotta get this car on the road! Thank you!

Needle and seat is stuck, and/or float is stuck.

Take the lock screw off, turn the nut CCW until the needle and seat assy comes out.
If the needle moves freely and isn't stuck in place, then the bowl will have to come off to investigate further.

Does it have the bronze filters in the fuel inlets? I just installed a 3310 on a buddy's truck that had them.

Remove the fuel bowls to see if the floats are free moving and make sure the needles are not stuck in the close position at the same time scope wrench up

might also have a leaky float or a badly tweaked float arm> FYI: the float should be "about" 1/2 way up the bowl when the needle shuts to flow off. This can be checked by attaching a hose to the inlet and blowing into it. Final adjustments should be done on the car with the engine running.
I like to set them a little low during assembly so that the fuel isn't running out when the adjustment site plugs are removed. wink

Get a small funnel, or squirt bottle and fill the bowls through the vent tubes/holes. It takes forever, for a dry system to get fuel up to the carb. You might have to do it a couple times.

Right getting some gas in there, getting it to fire, and shake some splash around ....
If not
Remove the needle/ seat. Shake it. If the needle is stuck, free it . Re-install.
Tips. take a memory how high the needle/seat threads are before removal for approximate resetting after removal. Once lock nut/screw are off, you should spray some carb cleaner in the hole left by the screw. In reality that might even free it.

I pulled the needle and seat and found the needle to be stuck. I cleaned it and lubed it a bit and put it back. Still no fuel. I checked the fuel pump once more just for fun and found it was not pumping fuel. Off to exchange it for a new one. Thank you for the needle check idea as well as the other suggestions on the sticky floats. I will update the post with a running 440, (unless the next new fuel pump is poop....)
