i would dig through a 6 foot deep box full of new 440 source dampers to find a original cruddy looking damper at the bottom, to go on my stock 383 2 barrel daily driver.

Care to discuss why, for those of us not 'in the know?'

I put one on my 383 stroker. I've had it for 3 years, and put about a total of 3000 miles, plus a dyno session spinning it up to 6500 rpm a bunch of times, and it seems to be doing ok for me

The only thing I didn't like about it, was that the timing marks are only "printed" on the outside of it, so when I painted it with the rest of my engine, I lost the timing marks. not that big of a deal, it's pretty easy to find TDC and re-mark it after painting.

that's for sure! I spent probably 20? maybe 30? minutes with some emery cloth to open mine up a little bit, and it was still very tight!

I ran a small hone through mine to take the plating out of the center hole,it fits about right now.
I have been running one on a stock crank 440 for a few years now,up to 7000 rpm through the traps.
I can't say if it is good or bad,but I will be buying another one.

I run one on my barracuda: 499 stroker approx 620hp.
270 passes and no problems yet. Yeah, they are very tight on the crankshaft.

we had a customer we built an engine for, and he supplied us with one of these and it spun the whole outer ring off after just a few passes. in my opinion, just get an ATI and be done with it !

I have had one on my stroker for two years with no problems,If you put it on with out sizing it to the crank dia first, it was to high tech of a job for you to do.

That was me. The damper failed and the Source didn't care. I have a Pioneer now and it is a much nicer looking unit all the way around. And not much more money. We'll see how it holds up.

Master, again and still
