Dakota_Don OP master D Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 6,816 Alton, IL	HI all what is used for an underdash a/c unit.. reason why i ask is, I am looking at a used underdash unit and I want to make sure i get everthing. I mostly just want the inside items only.. thanks

I've only seen a few---10 or so--hang on units, and had one on my old 70 RR. The dash unit should be pretty much self contained, only needing hoses to the compressor, receiver--dryer and condenser. It's possible on any unit that the TXV might be a proprietary unit and difficult to find a replacement for. Keep in mine that with older units you need to be able to upgrade to modern refrigerants. (Back "in the day" after a major overhaul, I used engine vacuum!!!! to evacuate the hang on unit and then recharging)

Pretty basic setup, AC compressor, engine brackets, condensor, evaporator, rubber lines, and under dash blower/cooler unit. Every single item is shown here.
