On the dyno during break-in, my 540 liked 31* total. And I like as much initial as it will take until it starts to kick against the starter. The bumpier the idle, the more initial it likes. Right now, I think it is 25* initial and all in by 1,800.

My 575" hemi likes 34°. I have it locked out and no trouble w/ starting. Idles better locked out too.
