hi kuda , also with it in neutral, lock up the e-brake, then check for excess backlash at yoke. does it have a "489" case ? wallowed/egged out cone case ? ronnie  The good news is I think you can rule out needing to chase suspension problems. Something is definitely way off in the chunk as 1969Ronnie says.
