I'm no bodyman- just started doing it for myself recently.

That would not be acceptable had I done it myself- let alone paid someone for it.

he says that's a technique not to bend the sheet metal... the problem is the 2 parts of metal are not melted together...

I'm not so sure of that technique.... please take a look at the whole pics, second sandblast and epoxy primer was done by another shop...

Lake Como Italy...I know there are very talented bodymen to be found in your area, but the guy you found isn't the one... You need to find someone that likes American Muscle cause the guy you found needs to practice on a Skoda... Good Luck..

Your guy doesn't seem to worried about the ball peened piece of metal he overlaid on to the original sheet metal. His next act will be to beat the hell of the welded area so he can apply an inch of Bondo to make it look flat.
You need to find someone who knows what he is doing.
This guy reminds me of a cat, his is probably great at up covering up his own excrement.

That is by far the worst I've ever seen.

That's the worst welding job I've seen.
Two concerns....
(1) What's under the hammered-up patch? Old rusted roof piller, just waiting to grow?

(2) After filler, each area BETWEEN his tac welds is an area where moisture can collect and escape (meaning bondo will soon bubble)

If you continue on with this type of patch work in the car, I would consider selling it fairly soon after it's painted.

I'm considering to remove the patch to see what's under... it's not a big job putting it back in a proper way

looking close is there still lead on the seam there? If so what are the spot welds on? Can we see the rest of the 1/4 panel? Do not feel bad, I had some work like that done to my car recently, then had the car blasted and done over by a great bodyman. It will get there, John.

Believe it or not my buddy has a 69 Coronet Cont. 440 4spd drag pak car(1of99) with almost identical weld job at his resto shop.I swear it must of been done by the same genuis. This car came into his shop looking like a first timer did it.Sorry if I offended any first timers who's car came out better. When it came back from media blasting it had the same type of weld job.It was hit hard in front and must of been used in a Duke's of Hazzard show.Totally amatureish.
