While walking around PRI, Icon, and Diamond have a "shelf" piston for the 512 B block combo. Anyone have experience with Icon. They look like a very nice piston.

I like to use the street alloy, not the looser 2616 alloy , version of any brand pistons on all of my motors. Ross does not make that tighter(edited) alloy so I stop using them I believe all of the Icon brand BB Mopar pistons are the tighter alloy I have used them in several motors now

If by "tighter" you mean 4032 and "looser" 2618, then you need to know which Icon piston series you're looking into. IIRC, the FHR series are 4032, and the others -- including all the BBM stroker pistons I've seen of theirs -- are 2618. Last time I checked, Ross only used 2618; Diamond used both materials, depending upon the application; JE SRPs were 4032, but the "regular" JEs were 2618; RaceTec is 2618 and AutoTec is 4032; Mahle uses both, depending upon the application... etc. Ya gotta do your research. Oh, you can put me in the "Icon pistons are 'OK', but there are others I like better" category. Their big advantage is that they stock a wide variety of BBM bore & stroke options that most other piston companies don't.

If you want lower clearances, get them with the line to line coating, it's a factory option now. S/F....Ken M Icon told me at PRI, the coating will be standard, once all old stock is bought up.

For you guys running a 4.25 stroke crank in your lowdeck, are you able to run the stock oil pickup or are you forced to go to an external system? I have the stock one on my 512LD 2.20 rod I had to grind a little
