I got my car freed from Jackstand prison last weekend. I have made some changes to help my average time on Drag week so I can qualify for the quick 32 bracket race for the Street machine class. Despite going faster I have slid down the qualifying ladder to an uncomfortable point the last two years I ran. Since my 2016 average of 11.15 the car has run a 10.71 in decent air. I had just finished up a few changes when i took the video below this post. I would love to have this thing run 10.50s in decent air. W2 EFI Tunnel Ram(was on the car for the 10.71) 8.75 to Dana 60 swap(4.10 gear) Wilwood rear discs changed from a 727 to a 904 i borrowed from my Dad, I have a low gear 904 to build if we think it needs it. went from a 4500 converter to a 4800 took the stock hood off after I added the tunnel ram. It is the heaviest A body Barracuda around at 3600LBS with a 240Lb driver. I know the dana is heavier but I hope there is at least a little weight savings by going to the 904 and glass hood, as well as losing the drum brakes. Here is a short video I took in the driveway after getting it out of the garage after a few months. https://youtu.be/FEvTC9HFE0I

Just did the 904 swap myself..... 46lb difference including respective converters. My S60 weighed 187lb including hats and rotors. Also dropped a couple with the aluminum driveshaft and cutting down numerous suspension bolts.

Looks and sounds great!! What does it run in our normal mid-summer oppressive temperature and humidity? 10.90's? Should be plenty quick enough to keep you in the 32 car field!

Adding flash/stall and moving weight to the rear should help your short times, would be my guess.
Nice looking fastback. I have always liked 67-69 fastback Cudas but for some reason I keep buying Darts

Joel that is pre modification weight, so hopefully I come out less than I started with, i lost a little bit of weight myself.
Blusmbl, It is usually down a .1 or .2 in the summer heat but that was when it had the stock hood and was getting 150* air into the throttle body at the start of the run.

All steel, Formula S, stock seats, stock fuel tank, R1/W2 engine, full cage, front discs and lighter than stock wheels. 6'3"+ driver 3,600 lbs. That is what it is. Sorry if you think we are lying. What? A drag week car that hasn't been in pieces all year and then getting final assembly in the tech line? LOL, good luck this year! I'm gonna try to get out there to watch at Darlington.

Goodluck and the way the weather has been this year I hope you guys have air conditioning to ease the trip some. A friend of mine won last year in his nitrous mustang and then sold it to another friend. He is going to go turbo power now.

Yeah it is going to be a hot one I am sure. The worse yet was 2013 for me, I normally like to hang my hand on the cage going down the road. There was one day in 2013 where the cage was too hot to leave my hand on.
Chip it is ready to make passes but I haven't fit the new hood yet or found new rear wheels for street tires, or put a trans blanket on yet. I don't plan on working on it in the tech line but crap happens lol. If you make it to Darlington be sure to find me and say hello.

I have a sump system a friend of mine and I designed and welded in the stock tank. We didn't quite get it at the angle it needs to be at so it needs some improvement but it works. I can run it pretty low and not have any trouble. That being said if I go bracket race I fill it all the way up to alleviate any worries about fuel. The only time I have noticed a problem was under heavy braking and low fuel levels, no pressure loss but I could here the pumps rev up some.
