While at Monster Mopar I ran three classes, two were back to back, and I need to be able to do some quick cooling down.

I tried the belt driven electric motor on the water pump (Moroso) but it lasted 2 passes before the motor fried on it (last year).

What do you guys recommend?

Does it have to be electric? Running like that I'd rather have a high flow water pump, overdriven turned by a belt.

Well, in that case, I've used the Miezere (sp) pump. I can't remember the GPM but it was the biggest I could find.

Messier is a top not product with great service. I have had one for about 18 years and it has needed service once.

Merziere is top notch, but if you're looking to save a few bucks I've had good luck with Proform. That and a Champion 2 core radiator keep my iron headed 408 under 170 degrees on the street and plenty cool at the track.

Have Meziere on both mills.... and I'd do it again smile

running lots of classes? go BIG on the radiator. I also have my water pump and electric fans wired into and extension cord plug. Hook it up to a deep cycle battery while in the pits. That was I can cool all I want and not beat up on my primary battery.

I would recommend this with a good electric fan. This will help keep it simple.. bolt up and go.. https://m.summitracing.com/parts/mor-635...4saAtPBEALw_wcB

I have that one and like it.
Key thing is between round cooldown not running down your battery.
I like the idea Jbody had in his post, using a spare battery.

How tight did you have the belt on the Moroso? Tight belt will kill those little motors.

I like my Meziere pump, trouble free for years.

To save a little room on the front of my motor I did a little welding and milled off the water pump recess. That way I did not need to use a block off plate. Saved about 3/4" and a little weight

I've used the moroso billet electric one for about 3 years now. No problems ever.

Meziere is a great company with excellent customer service. I would go that way with a good electric fan and shroud if possible.

Whatever electric pump you use, make sure you have VERY GOOD grounds.

I have been running a ProForm on my small block for around 5 years on the street and track. It cools down quick between rounds and keeps it cool on the street.
