Here is a post I made a few years ago about my 440 source Dist not clearing my IndyEZ heads. It was bad enough that the Dist cap wouldn't go on. I ended up buying a Firecore Dist and it fit great with no grinding etc. let's see if the link will work

Sorry I used my phone to post the picture and had to crop the pic a bit to get it to fit. But the 440 Dist is on the right and the Firecore Dist is on the left. Hope this might help you

It doesn't look like I have to grind a lot off that head. Not sure if theres water at that corner or not thou. I will also get a price on a firecore today from Don at FBO as I need to call about the rockers on order. thanks

I'd call Edelbrock and ask about the coolant passages. I ground my -1 , no big deal. Why would anybody build a bolt on head casting that doesn't fit ordinary ditributors is beyond me.

The belt drive distributor is a bolt on from Jesel (as long as you have the Jesel belt drive setup that is)

I make the water pump spacers and the TDC pointer and a few parts like that but the Jesel stuff fits right out of the box.

Yeah, spoke with him earlier. As of now looks like these are my choices for dist, msd, firecore, Daytona sensors, or another FBO brand simular to factory.

I have victor heads on a 400 block and the MSD billet distributor clears the head enough for me to rotate it. It does not have enough room to rotate 360 degrees due to the cap bolts. I will have to notch the valve cover slightly though.

I can take a picture tomorrow if anyone would like to see it.

This is the only picture I have at the moment. It is looking down from the top to show the space between the head and the distributor.

I'm using the Mopar Performance aluminum valve covers and they will not clear the distributor. I still need to clearance them.

What I did not like about using a cast valve cover was you had to make sure it was as far up as it would go so it wouldn't hit the rockers or cause any issue there with movement and limited contact sealing the upper edge.

Thanks for the pic. Looks like the MSD doesn't fit too bad. At the moment I'm looking at another Pertronix non vac or FBO's Daytona Sensors non vac. There was a new MSD in the for sale section I may take another look at.

Look like they fit real nice, but how is the quality now days. Im a little apprehensive after reading some complaints about issues such as reluctor wheels being chewed up. Have all the issues with reliabilty been taken care of? Thanks for the pics of comparison.
