Still don't agree with the emission decal on the passenger inner fender on Hamtramck cars. My post above was that I have seen PLENTY of 68 Dart's with the fender tag screwed on looking AWAY from the fender, turned 180 degrees from normal... scope

We had a nice near 60F day today so I got the engine painted. I couldnt stand not having paint in all areas, so I took off the water pump housing and damper, painted, then reinstalled. Here are some pics. These are just temporary valve covers, not my fresh rechromed ones.
This is Bill Hirsch engine paint
First time using, came recommended. I must say, has to be the nicest engine paint I ever used. Flows on so nice. Drys very quick. Since it comes in quarts, you can brush it on in spots, like I did for the water pump housing bolts and the seam.

The only gotcha moment was later on when I was test fitting some parts, as I was so pumped to see things fitted. I took out the choke well cup and what the???, doesnt fit. For some reason I bought this thinking it was like my 71 440, which I guess this cup didnt come until 1970. So does the choke just sit in the well, no gasket or anything?

The flash on my phone is playing with the color, depending on how it hits it. It is turquoise.
As mentioned I used Bill Hirsch paint

I know about the manifolds, rather get those jet coated then let the paint burn off.

Funny when I take a photo with the iphone it looks different than in real life.
Here is a photo of the only part I have left from the engine in my car, the rear ground strap. Color to eye looks virtually the same, but in the phone, slight difference. Close enough for me.

Messing with my eyes... Here is a photo with incandescent light, which is the closest match to what my eyes see. Not sure what is going on with iphone.
Its a microshade different.

I have been using Hirsch paints for decades, you can brush it on and it will look like spray! Looks to nice, shoulda done it sloppy like the factory... tonguue

Those heater hose nipples weren't on Engine when painted.
