I've done several late k-member swaps into a '62 Dart, this moves the motor back 1 5/8" which gives more fan clearance and allows later exhaust to fit. The only real clearance problems are the pinch weld where the floorboard meets the toe board, just hammer it flat and, with a 727, some of the formed bumps in the tunnel might need massaging with a BFH.
Of course, rear trans mounts require fab and longer shift/speedo cables might be needed.

If the engine goes rearward, so does the trans mounting pad, and the headers or manifolds. It's a nice way to shift weight, as those cars were a bit light in the rear %-wise, but you'd be wise to mock it all up. I would assume that the 1962 S6 K has a specific mounting tower, right? Steve, the mounting surface on the S6 is flat hence the angled brackets to go to a V8.
