I got suckered into buying a pound of something similar a few years ago at a swapmeet for $25. Looked like miracle stuff after the guy welded up a quarter inch hole in a Coke can. I have tried to use it on several things and can't get it to stick to ANYTHING!

I watched a guy sticking some aluminum beer cans together with similar rods years ago at Carlisle. We tried to break them apart later and couldn`t do it. Good stuff.
The trick is in the quality. Pop and beer cans for human consumption. They are pure aluminum with no impurities. A quallity alloy welds very easy. Another important part is the tip size and heat. Those guys that put on the show have it down to a science.

A friend of mine has used that stuff for a little while now. He's making a canopy for his boat, and connecting the crossbeams to aluminum tube on either end. He said the trick is to tin each piece, then attach them. Also make sure the joints get up to a good temperature, THEN add the weld/solder/whatever you call it. -Dave
If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

I've seen some guys use it, but they were pretty good welders to start with. I think I'd argue the claim that it is better than a TIG also.

Similar product. http://www.muggyweld.com/I plan on trying it to close up drilled holes in an otherwise clean and straight grille work.
