I need to add a fore and aft limiter on my Road Runner. Can the limiter be installed on the trans/trans mount? Or would it be best mounted on the block?

Doesnt mater.. if you use 1 only try to get it as straight as you can(fore and aft) or run 2 of them on the trans.. 2 keeps it from pushing sideways

If you are sure there is no flex, just put a solid trans mount on it Flex in the chassis? Can't say for sure it will have zero flex. Jerico said absolutely no solid mount on the trans.

Are you running a front and mid plate on your engine if so dont put a solid trans mount on it... cars flex and 3 point and the car flexes the first thing to break is the tail shaft housing... and it will break at the speedo hole area

I am running a front plate, no mid plate. On my GTX, I just used stock type solid mounts and a plate. The RoadRunner has a tubular K member, no factory mounts. The front rails are tied to the cage also.

I just have one fore/aft limiter running from the trans crossmember to the ear at the corner of the pan rail on my 727. Front plate w/ no mid plate and a poly trans mount.

Motor plates are good for controlling rotational movement. Lousy for controlling aft movement. Stuff moves. I didn't realize how much until I installed a pair and got everything under control. Low 1.20s 60'. Block and trans are a lot of weight. A body at rest tends to stay at rest.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Any Pictures or problems? been advsed to should use 2 if i go off tranny ears? Mine looks almost identical to DVW's setup, only I just use one instead of 2. No issues in 11 years w/ a bunch of mid 9 sec passes and a handful of low 9/high 8 sec passes.

I put one on each side at the motor mounts.. it keeps the engine centered.. with just one you can get by with that.. but since you run a rubber trans mount the engine and trans might twist one way.. I tried to eliminate that part by using one on each side.. works for me with a 1.19 60'... I do like the dual ones on the trans ears.. just looks nice
