This my be a dumb question but one Ive been thinking about for the last couple weeks. Im getting close to having my new mill all mocked up and im getting ready to start fabbing up my downpipes off the turbos, plans are to dump the DP Behind the front tires out the side of fenders. And was curious if theres any gains to be had by running 90° bends pointing to the rear of the car which seams to be the rage right now.
The reason i ask this question I was watching NHRA Promods the other day and one of the announcers made reference about the exhaust propelling the car down the track,is there a point when a high HP car will see some benefits from exhaust thrust?
Thanks in advance

I hear that the top fuel pipes will put out 800
lbs of force at each pipe.. if you run BIG pressure
it could help slightly

when I took up jogging and became a 98% vegan I lost more weight than the weight difference from iron to an alum manifold/MC/pump housing/& even 440 source heads combined! I felt better & the car was faster! just a thought till my coffee is ready

It couldnt hurt, but with that car, two holes in the tops of the fenders with some real annoying rain caps would be my choice. up

I thought some of the pro mod/outlaw guys were using the bullhorns facing upward (not just rearward) to provide a slight bit of downforce help to keep the front end down at speed. 3000+ hp moves a lot of air.

I think the guy at the tree prefers anything that's not aimed at him!

This is a turbo car. Any effect will be dampened greatly.

Keep the down pipes short and sweet. You can have the bull horn attach with V-bands so you can still remove the doghouse easy.

FastmOp thats how i planned on doing it as easy as possible I'm a one man operation and have to beable to do anything on the car by myself, but i see more and more fast guys running there exhaust that way and i was just curious if anyone has seen any real world data on the benefits of running there DP like this.
