I have a 05 5.7 with early 2 pin coils. Looks like the harness for the early coils have been discontinued by MSD?
Also I have a set of Eagle heads that I will eventually like to use.
What do I need to switch to the later model coils and that would work with both heads?

Buy the later coils and the proper harness for the MSD and you're good. You'll also need the later valve covers as well.

I just bought one for the early coils and installed it no more than 2 weeks ago. They are not listed on Summit Racing any more. Just the later setup. I ordered mine off of EBay and it was drop shipped from MSD.

Thanks Steff
Can I use 06-08 valve covers on Eagle heads? Or do I need the 09 and later valve covers?

If I keep the early coils can they be used when I swap to Eagle heads? The old harness is still available on ebay but it is no longer on MSD site.

Trying to figure out which way to go without having buy things twice.

No, you need Eagle specific valve covers due to the updated valve train geometry and they require the later style coils.

I am using 06-08 valve covers and coils on my Apache headed 392. Some trimming was required to the internal braces.
