That's how it's supposed to work. Yep, that's how it works for a standard or forward pattern valvebody.

When we were running the 3 speed, we had one set up to make the critical 1-2 shift with air and the 2-3 shift by hand. Worked great, especially with the 2.74. Uncomplicated, easy, consistent.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Thats the reason I went with the Pro Ratchet.. just keep hitting the handle... my Quick Silver I have to lift the handle from drive to get neutral or reverse and park.. it has its pluses and minuses
