I've been running the 6AL, Blaster 2 coil without a ballist resistor & MP electronic distributor for a number of years. I replaced one coil 9-10 years ago & now i believe i have another going bad, Should i be running a ballist resistor? Jeff

Occasional miss, popping thru the exhaust & dies sometimes. I've replaced the cap, rotor & plugs. It's doing the same thing it did when the last coil was replaced with this one.

My Blaster coil which has been in for like 15 years did pretty much the same.I found a small burn hole on the tower.Needed the car running so I heated the outside with soldering iron and pushed some material in the hole.I ran it for a month last summer.Ill replace it this spring when I awaken the 65.Rocky

I know all the MSD units I have installed has both coil primary wires come right from the MSD box. So even if you leave the ballast hooked up it wont be feeding anything. The MSD should get a 12 volt key on wire that needs power when cranking also. Then the 2 primary wires to the coil and two wires to the dist pick-up if using that style dist and the two heavy black and red wires go right to the battery. Ron

Just out of curiosity, what is the easiest way to get the run/start wire to the ignition box? On my '63 330, I used the factory harness and connected the blue wire in the harness to the run/start wire in the MSD box. My MSD 6AL is mounted under the battery and you really can't see it unless you look really hard.
