I have this one and LOVE the heck out of it. I work without a lift so this really helps. As with most of their products I took it apart and cleaned the shavings out of it and applied grease to the screw and DON"T force it past its upper and lower limits. When it stops, stop. http://www.harborfreight.com/450-lb-low-lift-transmission-jack-61232.html

I have one similar. Works great for car transmissions. I used it for the iron transmission on a '47 PW (heavy and high) and it was a bit wobbly. For PU's really need something wider and heavier.

Just bought one a few weeks ago...used it on a 46RE in my 99 Dodge Ram...worked great..
Had previously borrowed one and it worked just fine also.

Well, I'm gonna be on the opposite side of the street with this one. Maybe they improved on the design of these things, when i owned one, bought one, 10 years ago, but it was the most worthless piece of schlitz that i bought from Harbor Freight. It wouldn't handle the Mopar 4 speed trans that i tried using it on. I give it a thumbs down.

I drilled holes in a 727 trans pan, bolted it to the jack when pulling 727/518 the trans sits perfect in the pan,, no sliding around I use mine for lots of projects. holding a tire up pulling a rear end placing a rear end unto the springs even makes a good roll around tool tray, when outside> drilling and de burring a block. or doing brakes

I have one and have used the heck out of it. I've used it to R&R my 92 Getrac 360 5-spd in my 92 D350. That tranny weighs more than I do. I attached 2 metal bars on the sides to hold the tranny in place. Works great. Use an impact to raise it but not to lower it. Do that with a ratchet.

I can pretty much guarantee that the HF of today is nothing like the HF of 10 year ago, including the trans jacks.
