Fluke is an excellent brand, if you are checking capacitors, an old analog one will probably work good for that task but I have a fluke 77 and a 119. I bought my first fluke in a pawn shop and sent it to fluke for repair, had almost 100 invested before I learned to check each setting before buying used. Now I try to buy new. Tim

If Fluke is out of your price range & you have a credit card, you could charge it.

(I do have a whole battery of puns, I find them to be polarizing)

"Fluke".....there is no room inaccurate readings that could cause you to chase your tail and accuracy starts with quality tooling.....:).....

I have a Fluke 87-3 that I had to buy to test for parasitic draws 30Ma was the spec. i also use my old Snap-on Mt836 for testing Alt diodes and rectifier bridges. The old analogue meters still have their place. Thank God I dont have to use these to make a living anymore.

The big question- what do you want it for? If it's just for the odd stuff around the house and cars you don't need anything expensive. I've got two cheapos that have served me well for years. If you will be working on something with high voltage or using it pretty regularely then go for something better like Fluke.
