Hey there, I am finally trying to get my wipers working, but I'm not sure if I have the right parts. I have a 3 speed or variable speed motor, I'm trying to figure out if my transmission is for a 2 speed or a variable speed because the end of it extends about 1-1/2" - 2" past the back of the motor (see attached pics). Am I missing a part to connect the transmission arm to the motor? Thanks in advance.

Looks like your transmission linkage is for a two speed motor.

Do you know what the number should be for a variable speed?

You need a 2822293 linkage arm and a 2822289 wiper link.

Oh okay. I found two on ebay that claim to be 70 cuda 3 speed transmission arms but they read 2822-291-58622. How does the correct arm connect to the back of the motor?

The link (2822289) is attached to the wiper with a nut. The link has a stud where the linkage (2822293)is attached with a spring washer and lock retainer. Bob

Oh great thank you for the pictures. So I guess the 282-2291 part I saw on ebay is for a different year model?

The 2822291 is the link that will connect the the left and right pivots. Same on a 2 speed.
The drive linkage is different and the one you need

There is also a very thin steel washer and a rubber washer between the crank arm and the linkage arm. I also did a quick look on ebag using "cuda wiper linkage" there are no correct parts for a 70 3sp.

Yes Bruce, very hard to find. No one making them.

The rubber one is a home depot item in the hardware isle. They are in the pull out bins. In SOCAL they are Everbilt Neopren Washer 3/8 x 13/16 dia the skew #887480157581. If you happen to have any E-body wiper transmissions around there are several installed in them.

Is there any way to get a 71-74 wiper linkage to work on a 70? Are they the same length?
