225-70-14 will fit stock 14" factory wheels just fine.
But like mentioned get lost under the car.
And No way would I put a 60 series 14" tire under ,,it looks even worst.

Uping them to a 15" tire is a much better move

IMO

I just put a set of 17x7's and 17x8's on a 68 B-Body for a friend they look really good also

Sorry, that I've asked so many questions about tire size. I bought the rally wheels fifteen years ago and I can't afford to buy new rims and tires so that's why I need to stay with the fourteen inch. I'm going to go with this suggstion. 225 70 14's for the fornt and two 245 60's for the rear. Any last suggestions before I order tires? Thanks for the help.

245/60/14s ARE REAL SHORT
245/60/14s DON'T FIT a 14x5.5" wheel very well.

One good reason is 14 inch ralleys wont bring any money to speak of.

Wheel Vintiques has 15inch ralleys for about 100 apiece. If you can't afford four new wheels , maybe buy the back ones for now. Small tires on B bodies look awful IMO. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wvi-56-5812042/overview/ http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wvi-56-5712044/overview/ http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wvi-56-561204/overview/

Hi forphorty.

Thank you for answering my request for help. I'm going to break down and buy the rear wheels from Summit. What is the best size for the back and what size do you think I should get for the front? And what size tires for the front and rear? It's for a 1970 B-Body. Thanks for the help!

I read the whole post and understand your uncertainty. In your last post that I quoted here it sounds like you are now going to buy some 15x7 Rallyes from Summit. Am I assuming correctly?

Here is my old 70 GTX with 235 60-15 front and 275 60-15 rear. In a perfect world I would have used 245 60-15 for the front but got a deal on these.

If 275 60-15 seems too tall for you then go with 245 60-15 front or rear or 255 60-15 rear.
Hope this helps.
Ron

So Ron your saying to get 245- 60-15's for the front? You said to get 275-60-15s for the rear? Are you sure the ones you suggested for the front will work? Futhermore the rim size ...do I get 4 rims that are 15x7? Thanks for your help! Nice Car! Are you anywhere near atco? Karl

Yes 245 60-15 fit without issue, they are the interchange for the factory F 60-15 Bias Ply tire. I prefer 15x7 rims so the trim rings fit correctly and because they are the factory option.
You can put 245 60-15 on rear also to mimic factory size ( F 60-15).
Then I suggested if you thought 275 60-15 was too tall you could also use 255 60-15 on rear.
Here is my other old GTX with Bias Ply GoodYears F 60-15 on 15x7 rims.

I'm less than an hour from Atco.

So Karl are you sticking to the 14's or did you decide to move up to 15's? IF you go with 15's get 7 inch rims and if you want to rotate them 245-60-15 tires

I like 275/60s on 15x8 with 4.5 backspace on the back. Looks and fits 68 and up B bodies real well. However, as RJS mentioned, Ive heard that the trim rings don't fit the 15x8 very well, so 15x7 might be a better choice for you.

If you want bigger rears than front go 275/60s in the back, if you want a square look (stockish) go 245/60s on all 4 corners and you can rotate if you intend to drive it enough to merit that. The 275s will like 8 inch rims much better, a 7 inch rim will work but they balloon a bit and you have to drop the pressure to get them to lay flat and take advantage of all the tread. I have 275s on my AAR on the 7 inch rims, I think I have them at 26 lbs.

I always run my tires per the door jam sticker anyway and from memory I believe it is 26lbs.
Here is the same car with 15x7 and 245 60-15 front and back.

Okay, everyone thanks for the help! I'm going to put my order in tomorrow to Summit for 4 15 by 7s and where should I get the trim rings from? Because I would like for them to fit correctly. The tire size I'm going to go with is 245 for thre front and275 for the rear. And thanks for all the help. And if anymore suggestions let me know before tomorrow night because that's when I'm putting the order in.

I agree, but since I rarely running the factory bias plys or the factory size anymore I usually run 32 lbs, front and rear.

Helpgtxkarl-any pictures of the 70 GTX?
I've always run 235/70-15 front and 275/60-15 rear. The 235/70 15 is almost as tall as the 275/60-15 being 27.4" diameter vs. 28" diameter.

If you're buying the 15x7.0" wheels from Summit, buy the Wheel Vintiques 15x7 polished trim rings also.

Here's 245/60s & 295/50s on 15x7s (I prefer the 275/60s on the rear)

Another combo that I had for a different look was 295/50-15 on 8"rims rear, and 235/60-15 on 7" rims in front.
